Українська скульптура Hero Armor на честь загиблих захисників поїде на Burning Man 2026
Espreso, in a piece by Maria Drobiazko, says that a Ukrainian art project will bring the symbolic sculpture Hero Armor to Burning Man 2026. It cites UP.Culture, which received the information from the project team. The outlet describes the work as devoted to the memory of defenders and to people who carry their cause forward.
According to Espreso, Hero Armor is an independent initiative by a team from Ukraine, the Netherlands and the United States. The idea came from founder Liza Kormilets, who in 2025 left a photograph of her cousin, 3D artist Zakhar Zakharov, at the festival's Temple, next to one of his pre-war digital works showing a futuristic warrior. After hearing the story, her friend Marcel offered to print parts of the sculpture on his own 3D printer; her father and brother joined later.
The article says the figure is a futuristic defender in blue and yellow, due to travel to Black Rock City in Nevada for the festival, whose 2026 theme is Axis Mundi. The team is also joining UNBROKEN, which Espreso calls Ukraine's largest rehabilitation center for military and civilians, in Lviv. A closing section recalls earlier Ukrainian projects at Burning Man, including "I'm Fine" in 2025 and an anti-tank hedgehog installation in 2023.
