Hero Armor is a Ukrainian memorial art installation. It stood at Burning Man 2026 in Black Rock City and travelled straight on to the Reno Tahoe International Art Show. It honours the Ukrainians who left civilian life to defend their country — and carries the legacy of Zakhar Zakharov, the 3D artist whose concept became this sculpture and who did not return.
Below is the press coverage of the project — from Ukrainian and international media. Each entry links to the original publication. To see the sculpture itself, the engineering behind it and the people involved, visit the Hero Armor project page, or read the story behind the memorial and meet the team bringing it to the playa.
