Український артпроєкт HERO ARMOR представлять на Burning Man 2026
Kyiv Post (Ukrainian edition), in a piece by Valeriia Yehorova, writes that the independent Ukrainian project HERO ARMOR will bring a large sculpture to Burning Man 2026. The sculpture is devoted to the memory of Ukrainians who left civilian life to defend the country, and the outlet says it will also draw attention to rehabilitation for people harmed by the war. The team is described as coming from Ukraine, the Netherlands and the United States.
According to Kyiv Post, the idea appeared after Burning Man 2025, when founder Liza Kormilets left a photo of her cousin, 3D artist Zakhar Zakharov, at the Temple. It showed a digital image of a futuristic warrior he made before the war. A childhood friend of Zakharov noticed the photo by chance, and that meeting pushed Kormilets toward an art project meant to preserve the memory of many Ukrainians. Architects, 3D designers, producers and engineers gradually joined the team.
The article says the sculpture recreates Zakharov's futuristic defender in blue and yellow, as a symbol of the inner armor that helps a person endure loss and keep memory alive, under the festival theme Axis Mundi. It names UNBROKEN as the rehabilitation partner and Rescue Now as the charitable partner running an international fundraising campaign, with a memorandum with the Unbroken charity foundation.
