На Burning Man 2026 покажуть український мистецький об’єкт HERO ARMOR — Hero Armor

Ty Kyiv, in a news item by Yevheniia Katerynchak, reports that an independent art project, HERO ARMOR, will represent Ukraine at this year's Burning Man in the United States. It says the information comes from the project's own website. The outlet describes the sculpture's basis as a digital work by Zakhar Zakharov that his family and close people brought to life.

According to the article, the story began at last year's festival, when founder Liza Kormilets left a photograph of her cousin, 3D artist Zakharov, at the Temple together with one of his pre-war digital works, a futuristic warrior. A childhood friend of Zakharov found the picture by chance and later tracked down his cousin. After returning, Kormilets felt the story should continue; despite having no experience with large art objects, she was backed by family and friends. Parts were printed on a private 3D printer, and her father and brother helped develop the spatial solutions and drawings.

The piece says the sculpture shows Zakharov's futuristic defender in blue and yellow, as a symbol of inner strength. Its main aim is to honor civilian Ukrainians who took up arms and to draw world attention to rehabilitation of war victims. The festival marks 40 years and has the theme Axis Mundi.
