Armor Hero Sculpture is the Zakhar Zakharov's Art for Burning Man 2026
The Ukraine Kiev Tour site, a travel-guide business, announced that a sculpture it calls "Armor Hero" will be shown in Black Rock City, Nevada, from 30 August to 7 September 2026. The page describes it as an object commemorating people who left civilian life to defend Ukraine's freedom.
According to the site, the figure was originally developed by 3D artist Zakhar Zakharov, and it names Thomas Wievegg as the author of the underlying concept. It states that Zakhar left to defend his homeland in 2022 and did not return, and that his family, including his cousin, and a team of artists brought his work to life in the desert.
The page portrays a futuristic guardian in blue and yellow standing on an illuminated octagonal base that resembles tree roots, and it ties the whole to the festival's "axis mundi" idea. The motto quoted is "They chose Courage. We carry the Memory." A team list follows, naming Liza Kormilets as lead artist and Zakhar Zakharov as concept artist, together with Oleg Kormilets, Volodymyr Kormilets, Volodymyr Liubarskyi, Mykhailo Chernomorets and Marcel Barraza. The page also points readers to the project's website and to festival tickets, and mentions that Alexander Milov's "Real Love" sculpture will be at the festival too.
